Glad to be Alive

We took a quick overnight to Port Angeles to visit the Olympic National Park - mostly to spend time in the snow at Hurricaine Ridge, but due to various factors, we also went hiking closer to sea level at Heart o' the Hills.  We spent the night in one of the many old motor court hotels, which I love to support.  The trip was Jared's belated birthday present.  Being up in the middle of all that high altitude beauty makes on glad to be alive.

Some kind passerby took our photo in front of Mt. Olympus

You can see the ocean of cloud in the valley.

The motor court hotel is the very same era as our house, and I loved this old door.  Not only was it the original door, but you can see it has the original hinges and doorknob.  Fun!

Of approximately 15 exterior doors, four of various types were originals.  I liked this one a lot. (You can see they overlaid the old cedar siding on the building with aluminum.)
