Glad heart ==> Cheerful countenance

Proverbs 15:13 A glad heart makes a cheerful countenance...

It's easy for me to focus on the negative sometimes, but this proverb was bouncing about in my head today.   A good reminder!  So this is another list of good things.

  • My little boys were easy this morning.  They were so excited about their "new" beds - an uncle had brought over a power saw and cut their bunk bed into two individual beds yesterday in preparation for their move next weekend which includes the chance to have their own rooms.
  • Taught two fun students this afternoon.
  • Got a call about another potential student.
  • Had a nice phone conversation with my friend Amy.
  • Got mail which wasn't just bills and junk.
  • Even though my brother and Jared both have colds so we didn't do family dinner last night, Linda came over to hear Roy play his audition material, and I know it was good for him!
  • Nutmeg curled up on my lap earlier and purred herself to sleep.
  • I had forgotten how much I like wearing scarves of a non-winter, just-for-fun sort until my grandmother sent me a floral blue and green one last month.  Now I can't stop.  (And they are great for making one feel less belly-conspicuous in late pregnancy.)
  • Linda brought the baby Guess How Much I Love You last night, and the picture on the last page is pretty much adorable.
  • Fresh, homemade bagels and hummus for lunch.
  • Got to spend some time on Bible memory at my nanny job this morning - a rare occurrence, meaning the boys occupied themselves well for a good stretch.
  • Clean laundry!
  • I just found out I get next Monday off from my nanny job, which will make Monday a lot easier, since I was going to have a 30-minute nannying/teaching overlap which I've been pondering how best to navigate for some time now.
  • Clear enough to see Rainier from my favorite city park today.  And warm enough to take off my sweatshirt on the walk.
  • We opened the windows for some fresh air today, and the cats loved it, too.
  • I think Roy practiced about 8 hours yesterday.
  • Chocolate.
  • Jared volunteered to return the library books today when he was out.
  • I love walking into my bedroom and seeing the cats all curled up together asleep on the bed.
  • Freshly vacuumed carpet.
  • Baby kicks.
  • Raisins and peanut butter.
  • Thinking fondly about loved ones far and near today.
  • The Comcast guy was late this morning to our appointment to figure out what is going on with our internet, and we therefore unexpectedly get a $20 credit on our next bill!!!!
  • Watching Nurtured by Love at dinner the other night with Jared and Roy and enjoying seeing some familiar faces and wise words.
  • Jared's sense of humor.
  • Remembering some favorite restaurants from previous hometowns.  I may have to write a whole blog entry on this soon, since I've been thinking about them lately.
  • Trying to think of names for the baby while walking back from the boys' school this morning.
  • Being a little more proactive with my to-do list today without any looming deadlines.  If you live with me, you'll realize I can be a little lazy and then a little crazy when it comes to getting things done.
  • Jared got up and made breakfast for me even though he wasn't feeling his best and went back to bed after I left for work.
  • Still delighted that we have hot water in the shower, even though it's been there for a couple of months now!
